12. Heart to Heart

        I woke up to the doorbell ringing, I was passed out in the living room, my eyes all puffy and red from the crying I did. My head hurt from the drinking I did. My stomach hurt from the ice cream I ate. And my heart hurt because I was an idiot. 

        "She's right here," I heard my mother say.

        "Thank you, Ms. (L/n)," that voice, it was Levi... 

        I quickly closed my eyes. I probably looked like shit because I sure felt like it. 

        "(Y/n) get up," Levi said and shook my shoulder. I refused to open my eyes which only made him shake me harder, "Get up, brat, I know that you're awake. We need to go to your school today," Levi said and I opened my eyes, "You look like shit," he told me with a frown on his face. He was acting as if yesterday never happened. 

        "I forgot..." I said and got up, "I need to change," 

        "Hurry up, we need to leave in ten minutes," Levi said and I dragged my body up to my room to get ready. 



With Levi...

        Levi looked around the living room and sat down in a chair, placing his head in his hands. Was he too fast to say those three words? Did he fuck up a chance at having a relationship or maybe did (Y/n) think it was only a one night stand? He groaned into his hands, his questions still not answered. 

        "What happened to her?" (Y/n)'s mother came back inside the room, "Did you two fight?" 

        "I'm not sure. Yesterday she came to school and was acting cold towards me... I texted her 'I love you', but I don't think that might have caused her to suddenly hate me," Levi said as (Y/n)'s mother looked at him with concern. 

        "She was acting fine up until Sunday, she looked quite sad when I came back home... I'm sure you two will figure it out, I can tell that (Y/n) has strong feelings for you," her mother said with a smile, but Levi was starting to doubt that. He needed to figure out what was wrong with her. Both Levi and her mother looked up at (Y/n) as she came back into the room. 

        "Let's go, Levi," she said and walked out the door, leaving the male to chase after her. 



Back to you...

        The car ride was silent. The air wasn't awkward, it was deadly. Both Levi or I didn't dare to look at one another. I wanted this car ride to be over as soon as possible, but Stohess was quite far and there was slight traffic. 

        "Is it because I said 'I love you'?" Levi questioned me. 'No' I thought but didn't dare to say it out loud. 

        "Yes.... and everything else. We drank a lot... and took advantage of each other's states," I said lying to myself and Levi. It was for the best.

        Levi stayed silent for the rest of the ride. 

        We walked into the university and signed in, Shadis was nowhere to be seen, some random teacher was taking attendance instead. 

        "(Y/n)!" I heard a familiar voice yell. I turned around and smiled upon seeing that it was Austin. 

        "Hi," I said and we both hugged. 

        "Is this (Y/n)?" some women, who stood behind Austin, asked. 

        "Hanji?" I heard Levi ask from behind me. 

        "Shorty! How's it going? I heard Kenny is making you-" I cringed at the name as the women known as Hanji started, but Levi caught her off. I didn't know that he caught my reaction. 

        "Yeah. What are you doing here, shitty glasses?" 

        "Austin here," Hanji said and hit Austin's back really hard making him stumble forward a little, "is my student teacher. I work at Trost now," Hanji said smiling. 

        "Oh," Levi said without interest. 

        "Why don't we sit together?" Austin asked and I was relieved I wouldn't have to awkwardly sit alone with Levi. We walked towards some open seats, but Levi pulled my hand and pushed me in a full row that had only two chairs available. I frowned at him, but his glare made me back down. 

        "Sit," he commanded and I obliged. We sat in silence and I zoned out the whole presentation. I was conflicted, with Levi sitting beside me I started to think about him: I missed his touch, his scent, and his occasional smiles. Tears started to fall down my face... Why couldn't I be happy? Levi must have noticed my tears because he grabbed my arm and pulled me outside, during the middle of the presentation. The cool air made me feel much worse and all I wanted to do was be consumed by the ground at the moment. 

        "(Y/n) what's wrong? I care for you and it hurts me to see you like this," Levi pleaded once we were outside. I only looked up at him with teary eyes that glanced down at his lips, and all I wanted to do was feel them on mine own. My hands grabbed his face and pulled him down for a kiss. He was taken back for a second, but his arms quickly went to hold my waist and as soon as the kiss was initiated, it was broken equally as fast. 

        "I love you, too," I said as soon as we pulled back with the tears falling harder and faster. Levi still held onto me, a dazed look on his features. 

        "What?" he asked taken back by what I said. 

        "I said that I love you! I love that stupid smirk you give me! I love your kisses! I love how compassionate you are! I love when you speak French! I just... I-I love you!" I yelled at him, the tears never coming to a stop. Levi pulled me into his chest and cradled my head against it, not saying a word. I cried into his chest, as he pet my hair and ran his hand up and down my back in a soothing manner. 

        "(Y/n)? Stop crying," he whispered and kissed the top of my head. I already made up my mind already to stand for my parents, and as much as I enjoyed Levi's touch, I had to pull away. 

        "I love you... but I can't be with you..." I said looking at his face with tearful eyes. 

        "What are you talking about? You can tel-" 

        "Goodbye, Levi," I said and started to walk away, feeling a strange tingle in my heart. 

        "(Y/n) wait!" he yelled and grabbed my wrist, spinning me around. 

        "Levi... Stop," 

        "Stop? You're not even giving me a reason!" he yelled at me.

        "I... I have to go," I said and ripped my arm away from his grasp. 

        "(Y/n)!" I heard him yell, but he never followed and I never turned around to look at him.
